Thank-You for taking the time to review my resume. I am applying for the position of pipeline inspector. I am a 53 year old 3rd generation pipeliner. Having started my career straight out of high school, I was fortunate enough to work with many excellent and legendary pipeliners throughout my career. It is this valuable knowledge that has carried me through a rewarding career in the oil and gas industry, and more recently carbon capture and storage projects. Ive been fortunate enough to work on ALL types of projects ranging from small inch single well,small inch projects to extensive gathering systems and more recently, huge multi year, high profile big inch mainline projects. I feel i have aquired the confidence, experience and knowledge to qualify as a capable and competent representative of any potential client. I have extensive hands on experience in access, clearing and R.O.W construction and cleanup, as well as ditch, backfill, on top of good basic knowledge of all aspects of the pipeline construction process. I feel prepared to accept any challenge. I have good knowledge of permitting systems, environmental requirements and addressing the challenges currently facing our industry, and what my role is to ensure a positive, productive and safe project for all parties and of course a quality, successful final product to show for the effort. i have provided a condensed version of my work history, current certificates and references. Work History

Ground Disturbance/General Inspector

ATCO ENERGY SYSTEMS
09.2024 - Current

Supervise and oversee construction of 9 km of 20 inch pipeline right of way, including, but not limited to, access, stripping and grading to ensure a safe, effective platform conducive to a successful and efficient project.

  • Supervise and oversee trenching activities, including excavation of deep bore stubs, auger bore bays, wetlands and tie in points. Oversaw lowering in, backfilling of new pipeline ensuring pipe was handled with care, to ATCO specifications and in a manner which provided worker safety as well as protection of ATCO product.
  • Supervise and oversee hydro-test activities including, but not limited to, filling and stabilization of line, pressurization, strength and leak test, bleed down, de-water, drying and finally a successful I.L.I run with zero indications during very cold and challenging conditions ensuring contractor adhered to approved test plan and followed safe work procedures.
  • Answered to, assisted and provided Chief Marv Carey with real time information observed in the field.


INTEGRITY AND MITIGATION

  • Assist Chief Marv Carey with ATCO Viking critical dig projects on 16 inch Viking Transmission Line...Supervise and oversee excavation of indications, coating and clean up of replaced sections of pipe.
  • Inspected and oversaw replacement and lowering of a section of 12 inch ATCO pipe at KAPS facility in Redwater to allow road construction to occur.
  • Inspected and oversaw Swan Hills Exposure Mitigation, supporting and protection of 12 inch ATCO pipe exposed by high water in Goose Creek.

Clean-up of T.C 48inch Elko Project in mountainous terrain and extreme conditions, primarily steep slope work. Operating Heavy Equipment to return R.O.W to pre-construction condition.

  • Supported supervisors as needed.

  • Oversaw construction of R.O.W, trenching, lowering in of pipe, backfill and final cleanup of approximately 20km of 12 inch pipe in Melfort Saskatchewan area.
  • Prepared reports detailing findings of inspections, submitted daily reports to chief inspector Dan Carey, collecting data and reporting contractor progress.
  • Worked together with contractor and third party environmental inspectors to ensure proper handling of soils throughout the stripping and cleanup phases of the project.
  • Ensured pipe was installed properly, by monitoring contractor lowering in and trenching procedures. Observed foreign line crossing open cuts and backfill.

  • Inspected construction of R.O.W including Strip-Grade and machine cleanup through fairly challenging terrain on approximately 50 km of 12inch pipe in central Alberta
  • Documented topsoil stripping depths for project data bank. Worked directly with contractor as well as environmental inspectors, ensuring job specifications, environmental obligations and clubroot protocols were being honoured and to ensure positive landowner-client relations.
  • Prepared and submitted detailed daily reports for project databank. Monitored and reported contractor progress reporting to chiefs Dan and Marv Carey.
  • Reduced the frequency of defects by closely monitoring production processes and identifying areas for improvement. Ensured quality control audits were submitted when required.
