Wildland Firefighter 1
- Execute initial and extended attack wildland firefighting operations, constructing direct and indirect fire lines using hand tools (Pulaski, McLoud, shovel axe), chainsaws, and firing devices.
- Conduct mop-up and patrol operations, ensuring residual heat sources and extinguished to prevent re-ignition.
- Perform suppression repair and rehabilitation to restore landscapes post fire.
- Maintain, clean and repair firefighting equipment, including chainsaws,hoses, and hand tools
- Uphold peak physical performance by hiking long distances with 45-100 lbs of gear in rugged terrain.
- Support fire prevention efforts by creating defensible space around structures and conducting fuels reduction projects.
- Assist with facility up keep, maintenance and semi-skilled construction projects,painting and keeping facility clean.
- Demonstrated flexibility by working weekends,holidays.
- Experience with sand bagging for floods, cutting down, tress limbing tress, weed whacking large fields, trail maintenance, helping and serving the public.
