Ensuring compliance with all train orders, signals, railroad rules and regulations related to safety and operations
• Providing and receiving various forms of oral and printed instructions concerning the movement and placement of rail cars

• Assembling/dismantling trains in the rail yard, and picking up/setting off rail cars en-route
• Observing, interpreting, and relaying signals to ensure safe train and locomotive movement
• Operating track switches to change locomotive and rail car routes
• operate a frieght train effectively and effeciently while complying with the cror and 8960 rule book
• Making effective decisions when in unfamiliar locations or emergency situations
• Communicating effectively with the Rail Traffic Control center, other train crews and other departments on a regular basis via handheld radio

• Train in combat arms within the Queens Own Rifles of Canada infantry unit.

• Constantly build teamwork skills as trusting your partner with your life is a very critical aspect of the job in the line of duty.

• Being able to perform under pressure is important because when you get called up to perform a task, you and your teammates need to know you can push through and survive whatever task is in your way. • Performing as not only a member in a section but also as a leader when needed. Having to take control of the eight members in your section and direct them into battle is crucial as communication needs to be constant in ensuring everyone gets out safely.

Provides support on the production line by ensuring the workers have all the essential products when working on the line.

• Opening lipstick bases and caps so the line does not have to stop and cause a delay in production. • Assisting the line workers when they troubleshoot a problem to get the line up and running quickly and safely.

Deterred theft by being a physical security presence and making recoveries if I notice a theft happening. • Working alongside the undercover agents when they make an arrest.
