Golden Image Pipeline (Jenkins, Terraform, EC2 Image Builder)

• Created a customized golden image pipeline for various line of businesses according to their requirements. The main goal was to have the up-to date AMIs for different teams with pre-installed components to reduce the operational overhead for developers and application teams.
• The complete deployment is done through Terraform using Jenkins as a pipeline trigger.
• Source code repository used was BitBucket.
• The base image for Windows, RedHat and Ubuntu was used from CIS Level 1 and on top of that 14 customized software's were installed as a prerequisite.
• In total, there were 25 different images for 3 OS's, which were updated every month, the automation was in place which will trigger the run 1st saturday of every month.

Instance Scheduler (CloudFormation, EventBridge, DynamoDB, IAM, Lambda)

• Implemented the Instance scheduler stack with CloudFormation. The purpose of this project was to cut down the cost on AWS resources such as EC2 and RDS.
• There were few services created like EventBridge, DynamoDb, Lambda function, Cross account roles to target multiple accounts.
• The schedules and policies for Instance scheduler were stored in the DynamoDB table. Later on many schedules were added to support different teams as per requirements.
• EC2 and RDS in scope were tagged with Key and Value. EventBridge rule will trigger the Lambda function according to the appropriate schedule in DynamoDB table to shutdown and power on the EC2 and RDS instances.
• After the implementation, customer was able to cut down on cost for unused resources and over the weekends as well for the dev and other accounts.

SSM Automation Patching (CloudFormation, EventBridge, Lambda, Automation, SSM, IAM)

• SSM automation project was initiated to overcome the compliance issues. The stack was deployed through CloudFormation and all the required resources were deployed and configured including Lambda, EventBridge, IAM cross account roles, Automation to run patch baseline for Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Once the patching operation was complete, the full report can be looked at the success/fail from the Master account centrally and the troubleshoot accordingly.
