My objective is to advance my skills in oncology and infusion. Specifically, patient-centered care as it relates to helping cancer patients understand their diagnosis. This has been my passion, and why I became a nurse.

5 years of infusion room experience, 12 years of oncology, stroke, and telemetry floor experience.
Filling in as Charge Nurse role on the Telemetry, Oncology, and Stroke floors as needed.
Teaching the Oncology course to new oncology nurses, teaching the DMC palliative care course, and educating new grads in EKG practices and new grad debriefing.
Code blue response team for recording and emergency needs.
Placing patient safety and patient/family education first in my practice.
Playing a key role in patient safety and compliance for state and regulatory audits, i.e. CMS and JCAHO.
Administer and monitor chemotherapy regimens, biotherapy agents, supportive care medications, hydration therapy, and blood products in the infusion room.
Assess patient conditions, and/or side effects relating to medication, and update supervising physicians with observations and concerns.
Provided education and counseling for patients on their treatment plan and side effects of medications.
Responding to medical emergencies promptly and providing life-saving interventions when necessary.
