Jane Schmidt

After a long career as a clinical physiotherapist retired at the age of 70. Worked in private practice most recently for 7 years in Steveston BC. Prior to that worked in private practice in Edmonton for 25 years and some hospital experience in the early 1980's. Am now looking for a part time position with less physical and mental challenges. Have basic computer skills but am quick to learn new skills and willing to take on new challenges.

As an Interpreter at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery historic site in Steveston, BC I led groups of visitors around the exhibit and explained the history of the salmon fishing and canning industry on the west coast with specific explanation of the canning process and the social history of the local residents of the time, from the last 1800's to the 1970's

I currently volunteer for Edmonton Meals on Wheels as a delivery driver. I deliver meals from 2 to 4 times a week to the homes of people that order the subsidized meals. I am required to drive in all weathers and make sure that the meal recipients are functioning and not in any distress.

I enjoy playing pickleball and am a member of the Edmonton Pickleball club. I try to play 3 to 4 times a week.

I belong to the Lynne Singers and enjoy singing a variety of music.

I also do English Country dancing but only occasionally when I can get to Vancouver because there is none to speak of in Edmonton.

I am an avid knitter, producing many articles such as hats, shawls, scarves and socks.

I love painting paint by number kits and am trying to learn how to paint free hand.

I enjoy playing Pickleball and am a member of the Edmonton Pickleball club. I try to play 3 to 4 times a week.

I belong to the Lynne Singers and enjoy singing a variety of music and am a member of the board of directors.

I enjoy being in the outdoors, walking, cycling, swimming and spending time with my grandchildren.
