At the time, CANARIE served over 50,000 researchers at almost 200 Canadian universities and colleges, government labs, research institutes, hospitals and other private and public sector organizations, and connects them to innovators around the corner, across the country and around the world.
  • Technical lead and facilitator of system transfer of CIRA database to CANARIE from UBC. Designed and maintained the first CIRA office space and the first CANARIE mission critical Network Operations Centre (NOC), managing the purchase of over $500,000 in equipment. The NOC provided 24/7 system availability to local and remote users at universities, hospitals, and other institutions across Canada and a network capacity of 40 GBps.
  • Lead the development of a Unix based network trouble ticket system which monitors all of CANARIE network services.
