Water Meter Technician / Water & Wastewater Operator-in-Training (OIT)
• Serve as the main point of contact for customer inquiries and the scheduling of water meter installations, replacements, and repairs, coordinating dozens of appointments weekly and addressing issues promptly.
• Perform extensive data entry and record-keeping duties, entering meter readings, service orders, and maintenance records into City Works with a high degree of accuracy.
• Handle confidential customer information and internal documents with discretion, following privacy guidelines and organizational policies to safeguard sensitive data.
• Communicate regularly with the public, contractors, and cross-departmental teams (e.g. billing and engineering departments, utilities maintenance.), providing clear information and updates to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
