3.5+ Years of Experience of working around and with Helicopter operations with Southern California Edison. These duties consist of:

- Preforming multiple HEC long line missions to various locations on mountain sides

- Prepping and framing Poles, Transformers, enclosed Fly bags with Zippers, Fly Baskets with nets, Tools, and Gravel bags in staging areas and LZ's.

- Hooking and Unhooking Poles, Materials from Remote cargo hooks. Using Proper Rigging, inspected and approved slings and correct size and rated shackles prior to any flight.

- Always have water for the LZ unless it is on concrete, asphalt or Gravel

- Ensuring the LZ is clear and free of any trash, loose debris, or anything that may become loose debris from Rotorwash that could become a potential hazard to myself, other workers, the public, property or the Helicopter itself.

-Knowing who is in Charge of the LZ's and who the AOTs are

-Knowing and following Rules that apply while working around a helicopter such as never approaching the Helicopter from the Rear, no smoking within 100' from the bird or the fuel truck, ect.

- Making sure there is a clear understanding of predetermined head and hand signals between the pilot and ground crews during the tail boards

- Always Using the CRM (Crew Resource Management) and the all stop principals during helicopter operations making sure that myself and my coworkers are safe. If you see something, say something mindset.

- Depending on the each job and the terrain, it is key to understand where to position my self (and escape route) if an emergency situation arises and loads need to be dropped.

- Handling and Inspecting all cargo lines and HEC lines prior to usage. Edison has multiple long lines 50, 75, 100, 150 foot ones and we use use a Dual Cargo hook system for doing HEC operations (Main and Secondary). Also being able to recognize the different types of attachments such as the Grapple hook, Remote Hooks and how they work.

- HEC is Done with the 429's, Heavy loads are done with the 205, and do patrols and camera work with the A-star. Edison has 2-429s, 1- 205 and 3- Astars

- Hands on experience of Setting and Removing poles with Helicopters after Fires, Flooding, and other Natural disasters, along with capital work and DET pole replacements

Cell Phone Tower Operations Coordinator

I worked for MWC for 6 months building Cell Phone towers on the top of mountains in Kingman AZ where we were constantly using Helicopter operations to get materials on and off the mountains. I was in charge of the LZ and making sure all materials were correctly fastened so ensure nothing was lost during flight. This was just a short job but got lots of great Helicopter experience out of it.
