Projects

  • Introduced lubricant sales to diversify income while offering added value for clients
  • Developed a 500,000 dollar budget a first in the coop history
  • Authored the majority of company safety, operational, and human resources documentation

  • Moving to bring maintenance in house, realizing significant savings while reducing down time

  • Worked with mutable contractors to receive quote in excess of 100,000$ addresses construction deficiencies.
  • Collaboration with general manager to manage a 150,000$ general maintenance budget.
  • Regular fabrication, rebuilding of precision components with tolerances of 0.7 mm.
  • Training of operations staff in maintenance procedures, and leadership in developing operational programs.
  • Maintained detailed maintenance logs, parts inventory, and supply chain contacts to help provide information to other sites and provide reference for future operations.

Projects

  • Laid the foundation for a companywide procedure program.
  • Lead an initiative to bring track inspections in house saving over 30,000$ per year.
  • Designed a new drag paddle with a life span of double the OEM, and had it custom manufactured. this delivered a savings of 13,000$ on the retrofit, and stands to save over 100,000$ when implemented across the remaining drag conveyers.
  • Executed a rail offload project for 7,000$ that had superior performance, to a sister sites execution at over 35,000$ by bringing the project in house and cutting extraneous elements.

  • Implemented lean methodology to operation consumables and PPE program.

  • Collaboration with offsite resources in conjunction with Canutec to achieve a waver from there regulations under Transport of Dangerous Goods
  • Played an integral part of the commissioning team through participation in Hazard and opportunity studies, Process and instrumentation drawing red lines, and emergency response development.

  • Responsible for federally mandated inspections and reports, with full compliance to Canadian Rail Operating Regulations
  • Assumed a Interim Front line manager role, providing vacation coverage with 3 crews of 2-4 track maintainers directly reporting.
  • Coordination of maintenance and repair of the right of way. With detailed recording of defects and preformed maintenance subject to review from transport Canada.
  • Worked to implement strategies used on high tonnage tracks, to lighter volume routes in order to improve operating efficiencies.
