I am interesting in applying to the teaching program at UBC and very excited to learn about and gain experience with kids in a childcare and education setting. My friend worked in the summer program and immediately I knew I wanted to apply this summer. Even though I am majoring in history, I love learning about ecology, evolution and climate change. I have taken numerous biology, geography and history courses on these subjects. I am always outdoors on the UBC campus walking through the endowment lands or along the west dyke trail in Richmond. Being able to teach kids about the natural world and the importance of environmental conservation is why I want to apply here.

- From April to May we supervised the kids at the playground after school, walked them to the daycare and then looked after them at the center.
-During July the center ran a summer care program. I would help by running the activities and supervising during outings or field trips.
