I am passionate about both scientific research and clinical medicine. I gained laboratory experience studying genetics and circadian rhythms in fruit flies at the Hamada Lab, and clinical experience shadowing an ophthalmologist, where I observed patient exams and case discussions. I also volunteered at Shifa Community Clinic, a free health care center serving underserved populations, where I assisted with patient intake and learned about community-based health care. In addition, I tutor students in math, biology, and Arabic language. My long-term goal is to pursue a career in medicine, specializing in ophthalmology, where I can combine research, patient care, and teaching.
