Development and implementation of classroom and lodging programs for deafblind individuals. Individuals with physical complex needs and behavioural needs.
Planning and implementation of life skills,recreational and developmental programs designed to meet the personal, social, emotional and developmental stages of growth for each student.
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, assist students in the classroom/school setting.
Able to effectively work in small one on one or in small groups to facilitate the learning concepts designed by the assigned classroom teacher.
Worked well in a team setting, providing support and guidance.
Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.
Skilled at working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Demonstrate respect, friendliness and willingness to help wherever needed.
Demonstrate the ability to lift students using prescribed lift for the individual ex, hoyer lift, ceiling lift and solo lift equipment.
Assist students daily with mobility as directed by the PT/OT Instructors.
Assist students daily in all areas of life skills, personal hygiene, dressing and eating following the recommendations from PT,OT and care team of the individual student.
Work as a part of a team communicating effectively in a team environment. Communicating with teachers, fellow staff, parents and other team members.
