I do slurry seal for All American Asphalt our day to day job consist of a lot of different duties but I’ll try to fit it all to make sense.
I close down streets with dells or cones I cover man hole valves and water valves with tape and plastic. I slurry seal the streets, I squeegee the slurry so it’s nice and smooth finish at the end and beginnings of the streets and down all the seams and edges. I drive the slurry trucks which is called line driving when I’m pulling the slurry box over the street to lay out the slurry seal. I load the slurry trucks of with rock dust, cement, water, sulfate, oil and all the necessary tools and materials needed for the job. On major streets I set up road work ahead signs and put out tapers and arrow boards to close off lanes so we can slurry seal. I open all the streets up at the end of the day and help clean up all the mess of the slurry such as cleaning the slurry trucks, squeegys, slurry box, the streets picking up all the man hole covers and water valves covers. I’m used to walking and running up and down the streets all day doing slurry hard to explain on paper fast pace job and a lot of labor.
