• Ensure day-to-day business continuity in DGO leading team of 3 administrative staff.
• Responsible for timely coordination of all matters that come into DG office, ensuring that items are triaged, assigned to appropriate personnel within directorate, responses consolidated and reviewed/approved by DG, and responses/deliverables are submitted by due date.
• Prioritize ongoing requests.
• Supervise employees including assignment of work, leave requests, personal development and monitoring performance
• Liaise with people at all levels, including Assistant Deputy Minister Offices, Director General Offices, as well as senior executives of government departments or agencies
• Oversee mailbox and calendar of Director General
• Lead Engagement activities for Directorate such as all-staff meetings, monthly newsletters, coffee with DG, NPSW, GCWCC and travel to regions
Network and User Branch, Email Transformation Initiative directorate, Strategic Planning division ( AS-04)
• Participate in forward-planning for email services projects and operation.
• Validate financials to ensure that alignment align with directorate's strategy;
• Provide financial contribution to sector reports;
• Perform financial analysis and challenge function to: develop project cost estimates, support budget/period reviews, support transformation planning, respond to media requests.
• Regularly following up status with management, procurement officers, FMAs to validate costs estimates/actuals/forecasts and ensure alignment/consistency throughout all Sector deliverables (plans, workbook, EPT etc.);
• Plan and organize assigned work to ensure timely delivery; when required, negotiating more time or to seek help to complete work on time
• Support horizontal management within SSC through effective and efficient management of Sector finance
• Supervise Finance Project Officer
• As member of multi-disciplinary team composed of technical and non-technical resources, participate in development of financials for Treasury Board submissions and supporting project documents;
• Support Project Management financial function throughout Project lifecycle, working with Project Manager and liaising with corporate services financial groups such as FMAs and CMAs to validate project cost estimates/actuals for gate reviews and executive project reporting

• Participate in financial planning and forecast with Senior Management on Salary, O&M and Capital
• Monitor budgets, produce financial forecasts, conduct variance analysis and prepare financial reports for Branch
• Track, analyze and report on cost-recovery and Partner-Funding projects across organization
• Responsible for training new team members on all financial aspects such as workbooks and multiple processes and standardization across branch
