07.2024 - Current

Supports and coordinates the tasks of clinical research studies:

  • Pre-screens, recruits, consents, and schedules appointments with patients/participants
  • oversees data and specimen management
  • manages renewals and modifications of protocol applications
  • helps assure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies
  • maintains all regulatory documents

UCSF Department of Neurology
06.2023 - 07.2024

Developed CRISPR gene editing therapies for neurodegenerative diseases (i.e. Frontotemporal dementia and Alzheimer's disease):

  • designed/conducted CRISPR guide screens to test which sgRNA pairs are most efficient at excising target DNA sequences
  • generated CRISPR edited iPSC cell lines (bi-allelic and allele specific knockouts)
  • differentiated iPSC lines into NGN2 neurons
  • designed/optimized protein assays (i.e. Western blot, ELISA, JESS, MSD) to measure tau phosphorylation in CRISPR edited iPSC cell lines
  • designed/conducted assays to compare phenotypes of various MAPT mutations (IVS10+16, R317W, A152T, V337M)

Academic Support Tutor

Berkeley Youth Alternatives
08.2021 - 06.2023

Berkeley Youth Alternatives (BYA) targets low-income and 'high risk' students in the South and West Berkeley communities. By offering enriching, healthy alternatives in a safe and supervised haven, BYA aims to improve the chances of 'at risk' youth to stay in school and obtain a higher education.

- As an Academic Support Tutor, I led BYA's Afterschool program which included tutoring, recreational activities, health education, crafts, music, computer class, gardening, and dance instruction.
