Volunteer Experience

  • 808 Cleanups, Waimanalo, HI, Volunteer, Fall 2025, Worked with a local group learning about Native Hawaiian culture and history in that location, along with what the land means for everyone if it is destroyed. Helped clean the beach, dunes, and remove invasive species for native ones to repopulate to prevent coastal erosion.

Picked kalo for harvest on dryland and wetlands, removed invasive species from wetland lo'i patches, and learned methods of cutting and removing roots. This was a cultural immersion practice aimed to educate as many people as possible on the importance of preserving and protecting indigenous culture.
