Iris Huang

I am writing to express my sincere passion for music and my eager desire to be a part of The Juilliard School. I am a 12-year-old cellist who, for the past three and a half years, has been immersed in the enchanting world of music, dedicating myself wholeheartedly to the pursuit of excellence.

Over the course of the past three and a half years, I have been actively engaged in the study and practice of the cello. Under the guidance of an exceptional music teacher, I have not only gained a wealth of musical knowledge but have also developed a profound understanding of the art. Currently, I am mastering Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto and advanced etudes by Popper. These challenging pieces not only enhance my technical proficiency but also allow me to connect with the deep emotions and expressions within music.

My lifelong dream is to become a professional cellist, striving for excellence and sharing the beauty of music with a broader audience. I believe that at The Juilliard School, an institution renowned for its excellence in music education, I will have the opportunity to access top-notch educational resources and immerse myself in a world-class musical environment. I am eager to continuously push my boundaries in this inspiring and skill-enhancing learning environment and lay a solid foundation for the realization of my musical aspirations.

I am well aware of The Juilliard School's rigorous academic standards and outstanding facilities, and I am ready to dedicate myself to the responsibilities and challenges that come with such a prestigious institution. My approach to learning has always been diligent and earnest, and I am confident that these qualities will contribute to my outstanding performance at The Juilliard School.

He graduated from the Ithaca Conservatory of Music in the United States with a master's degree and received a performer's diploma from the Indiana University School of Music in the United States.
