Pothole Detection Using Radar ( August 2019 – Sept 2019)
Potholes have become more and more common among our road ways
This comes as bad news for people who are driving to work or trying to get to someplace by their vehicles
It uses the radar principle, where electromagnetic waves are released and when these waves hit a target and bounce back, we can know how far that object is away from us
The Arduino Uno is connected to a radar sensor and an accelerometer
The ground clearance property of the car plays a major role in this as it alerts the driver of upcoming potholes on the roads
Parameters that the pothole detector used to detect the pothole like sending waves in different frequencies in different conditions and changing the angle of transmission of the waves depending on the size of the roads were also considered.
