Work History

Asset Support Engineer

YOHO FSO Asset– ExxonMobil Nigeria
01.2015 - Current
  • Team member, I reviewed the Equipment Strategy for the Asset, categorized it for programmable maintenance planning and execution, and achieved reduced equipment and machinery downtime
  • Coordinated the Asset’s team of Subject Matter Experts to develop Process Safety Scenario Management for high-consequence operational hazard mitigation and management, ensuring the safety of personnel and the asset
  • Redesigned and developed the tie-in of the existing instrumentation and utility process air, considering new equipment integration and compressor deliverability, satisfying high load demand, and eliminating downtime impacts on the plant
  • This, in turn, eliminates the need for hired equipment, resulting in cost reduction
  • I improved and developed a strategy to enhance machinery run time data gathering for calculation of Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF), scheduled shutdown, synchronization, and advice on the mode to take machinery out of service without impacting the process, with adequate redundancies for reliability
  • I assisted in developing the piping vulnerability list for the Asset with contract execution of NDT for closed visual and full visual inspection
  • This helps to detect deteriorating process pipelines and eliminate unscheduled process downtime due to failures
  • I led personnel to review the risk assessment and categorization that determines the timeline for closure or continuous operation with Management of Change (MOC) processes
  • Chemical optimization for the production process is necessary to achieve on-spec crude that meets international market value while generating resources for the company and building trust with third-party buyers
  • I coordinated Risk Based Work Selection for programmed maintenance of equipment to achieve scalability, machinery reliability, availability, and redundancies
  • Managed tanker crude storage cycle risk-based inspection to determine the existence of anomalies to establish periodic monitoring for remediation management based on risk exposure
  • Asset advisor on potential critical task conflicts due to simultaneous operations introduced by business goals and objectives
  • Yearly development of work scope and follow-up with vendor mobilization for the execution of Lease Accounting Custody Transfer crude meter’s recertification, calibrations, and meter linearity checks to the standard of Data Integrity Assurance Framework (DIAF) and Nigeria Regulators
  • Reviewed and obtained approval to implement changes in set points for critical operating parameters in the process facility
  • Assisted the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) in closing out all open action items on regulatory compliance of Class Society (American Bureau of Shipping) to maintain the License to Operate of the Asset
  • Led in operational suitability factor consideration and engineering evaluation for replacement of moribund equipment in the Asset with the new technologically driven equipment
  • Team lead for Maintenance and Reliability planning based on complexity for key performance indicators and results analysis, to meet goals and principles as set by the company
  • Led in the evaluation and executing corrosion control program for the facility, aimed at restoring structural integrity to a facility built in 1974.

Operations Technician

YOHO FSO Asset– ExxonMobil Nigeria
05.2009 - 01.2015
  • Central Control Room Operator on the VLCC converted Floating Storage and Offloading Facility (FSO)
  • Crude product quality assurance - treatment and stabilization to meet international quality acceptable for sales
  • Team lead as Operations Technician on the FSO, with responsibility to maintain the structural stability of the FSO moored on a turret system without ballast
  • Maintenance of structural integrity – corrosion control and coating maintenance for structural integrity
  • Crude product measurement with adequate knowledge of custody transfer measurement within approved tolerance limits
  • Train-the-Trainer on Data Integrity Assurance Framework(DIAF) for reliability, as applicable to crude sampling, analysis, and export
  • Champion yearly custody meter calibration for prover, fiscal instrument, and meter linearity to meet corporation standards
  • Daily updates and verification of data in Energy Component (EC) for use by the Contact and Asset Support Engineering Team
  • Overseeing marine tank cleaning, gas freeing, and ventilation to achieve a working atmosphere for personnel entry
  • Oversight function for emergency response management – ensuring competent and trained personnel availability on the facility at all times
  • Operation of inert gas system for positive pressure attainment in crude tanks, during export operations and urging of hydrocarbon
  • Calculation, batching, and discharge of crude for sales through custody transfer, and meter prove for linearity and concise liquid measurement
  • Supervision of tanker mooring operations with tandem mooring hawsers
  • Assigned Measurement Site Contact’s role to assure all the measuring equipment is calibrated within tolerance and compliance with the regulatory standards, and is available for use
  • Assigned a role of interphase with various regulators in the Oil and Gas business in Nigeria, for assurance on the integrity of ExxonMobil Operations, for continuous license to operate
  • Updated various Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) that were left without red line markings to reflect additional, removed, or updated process instrumentation and new lines.
