Job Summary:

My role is to provide full cycle GIS support to ZEROCK management, business units and external stakeholders from geospatial data acquisition, through data preparation and analysis, to visualization /analytics and storytelling to support decision making.

Responsibilities:

Activity 1: GIS Application Development & Administration (approximately 30%)

• Design, develop, implement, and enhance GIS applications including Web mapping application and dashboards to support data visualization and accessibility.
• Developed custom geoprocessing tools to automate repetitive tasks, increasing team productivity.

Activity 2: GIS Data Management & Database Administration (approximately 30%)

• Design, implement and maintain spatial database and supporting infrastructures and technologies.
• Responsible for GIS data quality, integrity and QC procedures to assure accuracy, completeness and consistency.
• Design and develop Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) workflows to manage GIS data pipeline and its integration with various systems using Feature Manipulation Engine (FME).

Activity 3: GIS Technical Services & Solution Management (approximately 20%)

• Communicate with external/internal clients in order to determine their data needs
• Work on GIS projects independently or with team to develop custom data, maps, statistics and other products
• Producing maps and geospatial information required during all stages of project lifecycle and regulatory filings.
• Create and maintain field data collection applications i.e. ESRI ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, that support data collection
• Collaborate with external agencies, consultants, and contractors on GIS-related projects.

Activity 4: IT GIS Technical Support & Training (approximately 15%)

• Write internal standards & process documentation
• Develop customized instructional material to facilitate delivery of GIS training to end users.
• Provide training to users

Activity 5: GIS Innovation & Strategy (approximately 5%)

• Explore and implement new GIS methodologies and innovations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
• Stay updated on latest GIS technologies, tools, and best practices.

• Coordinate and execute data collection for environmental assessments, including historic research, site inspections and soil, surface water, sediments, and groundwater sampling program.
• Prepare field notes, data analysis and evaluation.
• Technical report and proposal writing
• Conducted field surveys and assessments for the identification and mitigation of potential environmental risks.
• Supported regulatory compliance efforts by monitoring changes in legislation and ensuring appropriate documentation was maintained.
