  • Preform pre-blast surveys (flying drone to make a 3D model of the blast, using a GPS to mark out blastholes, checking and finalizing hole profiles, determine optimal design, timing plan and explosive collar for a well preformed blast).
  • Performance on the blast, Carry Boxes of explosive product onto the blast site, take the detonator and booster and prime each hole, load the bulk explosives into the holes with the hose or in stick powder form. Ensured accuracy of explosive quantities by measuring each hole, and utilizing a five-gallon bucket to stem every blasthole. Implemented precise timing techniques from the pre-blast documentation to minimize vibrations, flyrock, and over pressure risks.
  • Assisted the blaster in charge by closely monitoring and supporting post-blast documentation. Ensured explosives used matched the number of holes drilled in the blast.
  • Delivered packaged explosives from the Fredericton mag site throughout New Brunswick and occasionally Nova Scotia. Conducted pre-trip inspections of assigned truck, loaded explosives in accordance with Bill Of Lading, and ensured accurate product count and proper shipping arrangement. Applied appropriate explosive placard.
  • Managed responsibilities as magazine keeper at the Fredericton site. ensuring the proper inventory is up to date by doing bi-weekly to monthly inventory checks on four separate explosive magazines. Documented and logged product inventory daily in the inventory book, including date, destination site, and specific items loaded onto the truck. Receiving packaged product from Dyno Nobel's distribution center in Quebec.
