Summary
For the past 3 summers, I have worked on the Fire Mitigation and Maintenance crew at the Ashcroft Indian Band. A large part of my job enhanced community safety by assessing fire hazards and implementing fire control measures such as fire guards and eliminating potential fuel hazards. Leveraged strong risk mitigation skills to reduce environmental risks for wildfires. I also worked with the maintenance staff to perform work on community homes and buildings and set up and serve for large community gatherings.

- Followed assessments of potential fire hazards within the community proactively to develop appropriate prevention measures.
- Reduced environmental wildfire risks through mitigation measures including working with community safety plan by mowing homes and fields, maintaining fire breaks and eliminating fuel such as sagebrush and weeds around community. Worked with manual and ride on mowers, weed trimmers, irrigation and debris collection.
- Set up for large community events including hampers, luncheons, holidays and gatherings including tents, children's inflatables, barbecues and serving large crowds for luncheons.
