CLAY CAPPING OF THE SYDNEY TAR PONDS (2012)-Former Sydney Steel Plant site, Sydney, NS

• Was Project Manager on this portion of the Sydney Tar Ponds Cleanup Project that lasted two years.
• Managed two physical sites, including 52 subcontractors
• Created site specific Project Management plans as required by the Tar Ponds Agency and NS Lands.
• Ensured that all deliverables were received on time.
• Met with all stakeholders to provide regular project updates.
• Met with community members to answer project related questions and answer any concerns.
• I drafted the site safety plan and ensured that it was adhered to as well.

VOGUE THEATRE DEMOLITION(2008) - Charlotte Street, Sydney, NS

• Project Manager and Site Supervisor
• Arranged all site preparation work including meeting with CBRM utilities, CBRM Planning Dept, CBRP and Fire Services among others.
• Regularly met with the client and his representative to provide updates.
• Peacefully diffused unauthorized/illegal union blockade at the beginning of the project.
• Adjusted smoothly to changes in the project such as the finding of friable asbestos.
• Sourced asbestos removal companies.
• Procured subcontractors based on previous experience, proof of insurance/licensing, WCB insurance and cost.
• Ensured that the project was completed safely, on time and within budget.

JDAC HANKARD STREET PHASE I (2004) - Hankard Street, Whitney Pier, NS

• Managed the demolition and remediation of a two-story home identified as having high levels of contamination linked to the Tar Ponds.
• Managed the lifting and movement of an >80 year old two-story home laterally approximately 60 feet where it was then set on a concrete foundation.
• Managed and coordinated the planning and timeline of each
• Oversaw move-related carpentry and drywall repairs as well as the installation of a new furnace and electrical upgrades.
• I was responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, control and closeout.
• I ensured that the project stayed on track and on budget.
• This was a joint Federal-Provincial project and I would ensure that stakeholders were consulted with on a regular basis.

Salvation Army | Sydney, NS

● Assisted vulnerable and marginalized children, ensuring readiness for a fully-funded summer camp experience and increasing attendance among the targeted group.

● Leveraged empathy, understanding, and exceptional communication skills to engage with children and caregivers, resulting in improved confidence levels and boosting overall participant satisfaction.

Ukraine Fundraiser | Sydney, NS

● Designed captivating social media graphics via Canva, driving engagement and contributing to increased fundraiser visibility for resident Ukrainian refugees

● Planned and executed a promotional social media campaign across multiple platforms, notably Facebook and Instagram, generating high engagement and yielding [$] increase in funds raised

● Supervised 3 volunteers, supported them with additional tasks and decision-making, and achieved seamless event coordination, resulting in effective team cohesion and productivity

• Key contributor to the attainment of the Construction Safety Nova Scotia Chairman’s Award for the Safest company; executed and monitored a robust safety program with an accessible payroll exceeding $1,000,000.
