Licenced Practical Nurse

BC Children's Hospital & Sunny Hill Health Centre
09.1993 - 01.1996

Focus was working with Dr. Seagle and his treatment of narcotic addicted babies born to mothers who were addicted to opiates.

It was the first of its kind at that time.

'Sunnyhill Hospital for Children' was also at that time a long term care for children with physical and intellectual disabilities that were acquired or congenital.

Noble House Co-Operative

Noble House Independant Living Society
08.1993 - 11.1995

Noble House in 1993 , was the first ever living independent co-op in Vancouver BC. It was comprised of ventilator dependant clients that lived at GF Strong for most of their lives.

They gathered a group amongst themselves to formulate a viable plan for independence. They raised money through various mens and took charge of their care by having a building built that would have 10 suites for those with disabilities ranging from congenital disabilities to spinal cord injuries and most were ventilator dependant either fully or partially, however each candidate had to be able to be independent outside the building to qualify living there.

They had 24 hour staff on various shifts that would be there for their needs and developed a co-operative with that.

I was part of the original staffing of Noble House and assisted in the care development part of that.

Once that was up and going, I left the organization and do not know its position today.
