In Conclusion

I have always loved books.  I loved having them read out loud to me as well as curling up with them all by myself.  In my youth I would religiously trek from my house to the Dundas Public Library to sign out as many books as I could carry in my bag.  On this route I would pass by the local bookstore that was located in a beautiful old heritage house with a garden and pond.  I would be drawn inside to smell the new books, chat with the owner, and visit with the menagerie of cats and dogs that were residing there at any given time.  I was even lucky enough to have the owner live nearby my house and a few times on Halloween he gave out small Robert Munsch books instead of candy.  It is the only time I have wanted to visit a house more than once.

Throughout every phase of my life books have been a comfort, a joy, and a lifesaver.  They are a wonderful way to escape reality, or to better understand myself and the world around me.  I have never given up my dream of working in a bookstore, and the Bookkeeper represents so many things I feel passionate about such as female empowerment, a strong sense of community, and a welcoming and accepting environment for everyone.  I would love a chance to become part of such an incredible team and to contribute in any way to a business that is so influential and can have such a large impact in the community it serves.

Interesting Facts

  • Gave out small Robert Munsch books as gifts to everyone at our wedding.
  • When visiting San Francisco last year, my first order of business was to go the the Bookbinding Museum there.
  • Favorite Music Group is Rainbow Kitten Surprise. Incredible.
  • Huge CBC Supporter. Small Achievable Goals is my current favorite television show.
  • We recently adopted a deaf puppy and I have been learning ASL.
