Hasmik Sargsyan
Theatre Major | Aspiring Actor | Psychology Minor
I am Hasmik Sargsyan, a passionate and dedicated individual with a strong commitment to pursuing a career in acting and psychology. Born in Yerevan, Armenia, in 2003, I have always been driven by a thirst for knowledge and a desire to explore diverse professions.
My journey into acting began at a young age when I realized that actors have the unique opportunity to embody various roles and acquire a wide range of skills and knowledge. This realization sparked my love for the craft, leading me to pursue theater as my major. Acting allows me to engage in continuous learning, a pursuit I deeply cherish.
In addition to my love for the performing arts, I hold a minor in psychology, a field that complements my acting aspirations. Understanding the intricacies of the human mind is crucial for portraying authentic characters on stage and screen. The synergy between psychology and acting fuels my passion and enhances my ability to connect with audiences.
My determination to become an actor faced initial opposition from my parents, but my unwavering dedication led me to pursue formal training at a renowned acting school. Graduating with honors, I continued to broaden my horizons by working as an assistant at the school and participating in voluntary productions for children from adoption homes.
In 2018, I moved to the United States, where I enrolled at Los Angeles Valley College and later gained admission to several prestigious universities, including California State University Northridge (CSUN), where I am currently a student. My journey has been defined by discipline and hard work, traits I consider essential for achieving one's goals.
My pursuit of psychology is deeply rooted in my family's journey as immigrants. Witnessing the challenges my parents faced, including their mental health struggles, has inspired me to become a therapist. I aim to help not only my family but also others who have experienced similar hardships.
I am currently planning to apply for the Master in Family Therapy (MFT) program at CSUN to further my education and expand my capacity to make a positive impact on individuals and families facing adversity.
In summary, my journey is a testament to my unwavering commitment to acting and psychology, fueled by a profound desire for personal growth and a deep sense of responsibility to support my family and those in need. My dedication, combined with my diverse experiences, positions me as a determined and empathetic individual ready to contribute to the world of performing arts and mental health.
Sometimes I volunteer with United Young Armenians and I like volunteering at Children's events where we do arts and crafts with them this is a nonprofit organization.
I have been Assisting as a TA for my acting teacher for a year in Hayack studio which is now currently closed permanently but it was a great experience to work with new students and learn about how thay learn.
Despite the fact that ''Nar Taterakan Studio'' is an acting school we were doing ticket-free production for children from adoption centers or children who suffered from war in Armenia completely free and voluntary.

Archery and poetry are my two cherished passions that offer me a profound means of self-expression and emotional release.
In the world of archery, I find tranquility and focus, drawing my bowstring with precision as I aim for my target. The graceful release of an arrow allows me to channel my emotions into each shot, transcending words to convey my feelings in the silence of each draw.
In contrast, poetry serves as my literary canvas, where I paint emotions with words. The rhythmic flow of verses and the cadence of lines become a vessel for the depths of my heart. Through poetry, I can craft a world where emotions dance, and the unspoken finds its voice.
Together, archery and poetry are my dual companions on the journey of self-expression, allowing me to harmonize the physical and emotional realms, creating a symphony of feelings that resonate with the soul.
