Project Officer Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

Liaise with donors and write project proposal for resources mobilization. As a result, more than US$ 700,000 was mobilized in 2004 for water and sanitation interventions.   • I was also UNICEF-Mali’s Emergency focal point from 2002 to 2004. In this capacity, I was the head of a small unit posted temporarily in Sikasso when the crisis in Ivory Coast started. I have assessed, implemented and monitor all UNICEF water and sanitation interventions in refugees and transit settlements of Loulouni, Zegoua, Sikasso and Kolondieba. I also provided technical support to the camp of Faragouran. In this capacity, I have designed and implemented water supply and sanitation infrastructure (boreholes, water treatment and distribution, latrine construction) in refugee camps, transit sites as well as in host communities. Familiar with participatory methods such as PRA and PHAST approach. As a key member of the inter agency team, I was the leader of the Water and Sanitation working group comprising multi and bi lateral donors as well as NGOs. I have coordinated the sector contingency plan as well as the consolidated appeal process. Monitor and complement the emergency supply plan for readiness. Formulate UNICEF emergency plan. Write weekly situation reports as well as donor updates. Coordinate emergency interventions with other sectors particularly health and education. Familiar with SPHERE standards. Write donor reports, annual plan of action, quarterly and annual review documents, etc.
