Summary

As a current Bachelor of Education student at the University of Ottawa, with a focus on mathematics, I am eager to contribute to the OCDSB and provide quality education to students across the district.

My training under my Associate Teacher (AT) has given me hands-on experience in teaching math and social science classes. This experience has allowed me to develop effective classroom management skills, create engaging lesson plans, and foster a positive learning environment. Additionally, my background in statistics and mathematics from McGill University equips me with a strong foundation to teach mathematics at various grade levels.

Moreover, my role as a Teacher’s Assistant at New Oriental Education & Technology Group in Hangzhou, China, where I provided individualized tutoring and support to students, has deepened my commitment to student success and reinforced my ability to adapt to diverse learning needs.

I am particularly drawn to the OCDSB because of its commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to this mission as an Occasional Teacher, where I can bring my passion for teaching, dedication to student development, and strong mathematical background to support the students and schools within the district.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of discussing how my qualifications align with the needs of the OCDSB in an interview.
