Responsible for overseeing that staff apply departmental rules and regulations when processing Quarterly Reports on the LEADER and CAST System. Authorize benefits to ensure that benefits are issued timely and correctly while meeting district and departmental guidelines. Provide administrative support and train staff to ensure that they have the current rules and regulations to determine correct eligibility.
From September 2005 - December 2007, supervised an approved/intake Food Stamp and Medi-Cal unit, (combo). From January 2007- September 2007, supervised a unit that processed Quarterly Reports. From October 2007 - June 2012, supervised a CalWorks Approved Unit. From June 2012 - June 2013, supervised a Medi-Cal Approved unit. July 2013, volunteered to transfer to the Medical Outreach District to work on the Healthy Way LA Project. September 2013 to December 2020 assigned to a Medical Intake Unit that consisted of 7 Eligibility Workers that were stationed at 5 hospitals throughout Los Angeles County. March 2011 - December 2022 volunteered to assist the DPSS Mobile Unit. November 2018 to January 2019, supervised a unit of 4 that was assigned to the Malibu Disaster Center to provide services to the victims of the Woolsey Fire. January 2021 - December 2022 was assigned to the MOD Hotline that consisted of 6 Eligibility Workers. The MOD Hotline would receive phone calls from patients that wanted to apply for Medi-Cal. These patients were admitted to hospitals that were part of the Hospital Association of Southern California. January 2023 – February 2025 volunteered and was assigned to the Hospital Certification Unit. The main responsibility of the Hospital Certifier was to review and authorize intake Medi-Cal cases submitted by DHS hospitals.
