Provide vacation coverage to Operations Manager and emergency coverage to Shift Supervisors/Lead Hands.
Provide leadership to Shift Supervisors, Lead Hands and Field Operators.
On call 24/7 for any operations support and process upsets.
Responsible for setting and controlling operating parameters of plant.
Involved in several cross functional teams to support safe operations.
Lead by example by promoting safe work practices and operational discipline behaviors.
Heavily involved in turnaround preparation, execution and start up activities.
Responsible for Hazardous Energy Control and Confined Space Entry creation for yearly plant turnarounds
Maintain effective communication and coordination with plant maintenance staff to ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely and efficiently as they relate to operations.
Verification and completion of daily production reports before submitting to Marketing
Responsible for maintaining daily operating orders and communicating them to Shift Supervisors/Lead Hands daily.
Lead trials for process optimization (yeast, enzyme, additives, etc.)
Verification of overtime and time off requests for Operations Department. Ensure Operations Department has adequate coverage.
Monitor Operations certification and re-certification testing program.
Review, update and create Operations SOP's.
Involved in hiring process for Operations staff and co-op students.
Commissioning new pieces of process equipment.
Provide support for Corn Oil Loading and associated paperwork.
Involved in compliance to Canada Revenue Agency requirements per Excise.
Create Emergency Response drill scenarios and table top exercises for Operations.
Active member of Emergency Response Command Centre.
Participate in PHA's, HAZOP's, PSSR's, MOC's, risk assessments, etc.
Attend yearly Fuel Ethanol Workshop to gain knowledge, learn new technology and maintain networking relationships.
