Owned and ran one of the largest independent picture framing-decorating-gift stores in Ottawa, Bank St Framing (1983-2015).Provided large scale contract framing services, art consulting for commercial and residential clients. Operating an in-house seasonal gift gallery ranging from live bonsai plants and orchids to one of Ottawa's largest and creatively sourced Christmas decor sections. Frequently rated #1 in various People's choice magazine categories. Ranked in the top 5 percentile of Canadian picture framing store in Canada with $1 million plus in annual sales.

Built and created Ottawa's most famous bead store chain,The Sassy Bead Co. with 4 stores in Toronto, Ottawa and Nepean.(1993-2015). Unique inventory(5000 plus line items) sourced from all over the world: Morocco, Japan,South Korea,Mexico,Afghanistan to name a few. The stores offered workshops and classes in all aspects of jewellery and bead making. We partnered with alternative high schools to mentor at risk teenagers in a co-op setting . Provided supplies to local Indigenous Centres for on going cultural workshops. Worked with NGO's in Africa to assist women's centres in elevating young women from poverty situations.

Opened and operated Frou Frou and Pom Pom Boutiques-women's fashion and accessories stores in The Byward Market , Glebe and Ottawa West locations (2000-2016). The stores received various accolades in print and on line media for their creative buying and merchandise.

Opened a Victoria location of Pom Pom in October 2016 and is currently at Trounce Alley.

In Vino Vertias-wine consulting - (2009- current)-Provide private consulting on individual wine cellars and purchasing.

Food Service Experience

Worked at the Ottawa-Glebe location of Nicastro's Italian deli from February 2017 to September 2018. Specialized in cheese and cured meat department. Prepared daily sandwiches to order, in house salads, maintained the cheese selection(80 plus varieties). Provided on-going recipe and cooking advice to clients using in house products-fresh produce to pastas to seasonal items. Provided wine and food pairing advice to clients. Prepared deli platters for catering events. Educated clients on all aspects of cheeses-from domestic to imported, from soft to aged .It was a short term position while we sold our home and closed our business interests in Ottawa to move to B.C.
