My role as a seasonal piece-rate tree planter include:

- Planting an average of 3,000 to 5,000 trees per-day, 6 days a week

- Using Avenza Maps to navigate vast bush terrain

- Assisting Foreman with day-to-day organization and tasks

- Navigating Forest Service Roads with both work trucks and ATVs

- Moving and setting up remote camps

- Employing proper helicopter etiquette to maintain a safe work site

• Brushing and Thinning (Blue Collar, 2024)

Brush saw operator tasked with implementing forestry thinning practices throughout replanted cut blocks in order to promote healthy, efficient crop growth. Details include:

- using Avenza mapping to navigate replanted cut blocks and designated work zones

- Identifying and cutting several hectares per day of competing tree species

• Supported fire prevention and suppression goals by building fire breaks and eliminating hazardous brush through controlled burns.
• Pruning, piling and burning hazardous forested areas using pole saws and torches

• Utilized GPS technology for efficient data collection, throughout difficult, remote mountainous terrain
• Traversed difficult mountain passes carrying spools of wire, splicing connections and maintaining communications with a small team in order to gather electrical readings at various designated points
• Employing proper helicopter etiquette to maintain a safe work site

• Using GPS technology to navigate difficult rugged terrain and access designated soil sites
• Collecting and carrying several dozen quality soil samples per day
