I feel my diverse flying background shows that I am adaptable, and willing and able to learn. I continue to have a keen interest in aviation and would love to try something new. Although I've taken a break from the industry post retirement, I am fit, healthy and excited about an opportunity to resume my passion.

Work History

Civil Aviation Inspector

Transport Canada, Aerodrome Safety, National Ops

I was Principle Inspector for various certified airports in BC, including CYVR and Victoria Harbour Water Airport. I was frequently asked to act as Manager for the department and was heavily involved with the implementation of SMS for certified airports. During my time at Aerodrome Safety I maintained captaincy on the Beechcraft King Air and C206 amphibious aircraft, travelling extensively throughout BC.

Looking for a change, I accepted a position with National Operations and was the Principle Inspector during the certification of West Jet Swoop. I contributed to the implementation of the B767 with West Jet, performing line checks and simulator evaluations as an Approved Check Pilot. I maintained qualifications on the B767 and A320 with Air Canada up until my retirement..

Airline Pilot

Emirates Airlines, Canada 3000 Airlines
01.1994 - 03.2006

First Officer on A332, A343 and A345, based out of Dubai UAE, flying to North America, Europe, Asia and Africa from Aug '03 to Mar 2006. Prior to that I was with Canada 3000 having flown as a Captain on the B757 and A330, and initially as a FO on the A320.

I flew extensively throughout BC primarily for the BC Ambulance Service Infant Transport Team, as Captain on the Piper Cheyenne and HS25. I also flew seasonally for Harbour Air, operating C185 and DHC2 aircraft from CYVR and Coal Harbour. My initial float experience came after college in Pickle Lake ON, with Central Air Transport, flying the C180 and DHC2.

I spent 3 years on Squadron in Germany as a combat ready multi role fighter pilot and was a designated display pilot for one airshow season. After Germany I spent 2 years in Cold Lake instructing all aspects of the Basic Fighter Pilot Course at 419 Sqn. My military experience also includes obtaining my Rotary Wings on the B206 with 408 Tac Hel Sqn in Edmonton.

  • As a Civil Aviation Inspector I have always maintained my flying qualifications, either through actual flight time or a company approved simulator program In addition, I've had training in SMS, QA, Human and Organizational Factors, and facilitated briefing/debriefing I've attended several ACP refresher courses, underwater egress and all of the required training for the Inspector Delegations of both Aerodrome Safety and National Operations (formerly Airline Inspection) I have reviewed and approved many COM's, AOM's, Pilot Training Manuals, SMS Manuals and MEL's I have a keen eye for detail and any opportunity for improvement
