  • Plan, prepare, and design harvest plans and provide overall assistance to the harvest operations in Southern New Brunswick.
  • Interpret digital and photographic media to delineate stands & forest-types.
  • Research vegetation management history. Execute stand examinations (inventories) in accordance with established protocols. Update timber inventory databases and GIS layers as necessary.
  • Process and analyze timber inventory data to determine & prescribe silvicultural treatments. Analyze areas for visual impacts.
  • Review the existing skid / landing / haul road system for (re) use in proposed harvest plans; identify areas for new landings & roads.
  • Vegetation management projects.
  • Layout harvest units based on silvicultural opportunities, habitat objectives, stand & ground conditions, and landscape features.
  • Layout and mark skid trails.
  • Inspect timber harvesting operations for contract compliance; Inspect stream crossings, utilization, slash disposal, erosion control, etc.
  • Provide information about forest management to the general public.
  • Coordinate work activities and schedules with Planning Foresters to accomplish projects & production within target timeframes.
  • Leader in JDI safety, most hazard IDs in Silviculture department for 2 years.
