I did originally start at Olivio's Trattoria as a busser, where I then moved on to running food, and finally serving. Since gaining employment there, the company has hit a few bumps in the road and we are largely understaffed. So while my job title is "Server", my duties are typically far more demanding than at a typical restaurant. My responsibilities include the following:

• Polishing glasses and tableware.
• Bussing and resetting tables.
• Managing reservations and guest seating.
• Coordinating with the kitchen to ensure order mistakes aren't made, as well as timing when and what dishes are to come out.
• Running food, drinks, and complimentary appetizers.
• Relaying any house specials, answering menu questions, and taking orders.
• Bartending ordered cocktails, wines, beers, and any other beverages.
• Managing takeout orders, either called in or through Grubhub and Doordash.
• When closing: taking out all trash, dirty linens, cleaning the bar and complimentary bread station, and closing out all order tickets sent in for the night.
