I am a passionate public servant with over 17 years of Local Government finance experience especially focused on payroll and property taxes. I love to help others by educating the community and for the past few years managing the finance team, to build morale, confidence and provide support. I am known for my attention to detail, interpersonal skills and for always going above and beyond. Continuing education is an important part of my career path and I am continually taking finance courses and workshops related to supervising, property taxes, audit, and payroll. Financial Accounting Supervisor/ Payroll Clerk

  • Processed payroll full time from 2015 and trained the payroll clerk in 2022 in my supervisor position
  • From 2022 to present I process payroll when required during staff absences
  • Supervise the payroll process from timesheet to payment, this includes ensuring accuracy to contracts (both salary and union) and applicable payroll legislation
  • Research legislation as it pertains to unique payroll circumstances
  • Effectively communicate with departments to ensure payroll is accurate
  • Implement payroll software updates, and setting up changes in benefits and deductions ensuring legislation is being followed

  • Supervise and process year end reports including Municipal pension, employer health tax, workers compensation and T4 reporting
