-Responsible for prioritizing, assigning, organizing and scheduling of daily operational activities and providing supervision tp divisional crews

-Ensuring the excavation, installation, maintenance and repairs to Toronto Water infrastructure are completed in a safe and efficient manner

-Responsible for staff activities ensuring maintenance to the water distribution infrastructure by implementing the department practices, policies in compliance with the MOE

-Attend meetings with councilors, divisional management, staff, residents and contractors to proficiently communicate departmental policies and practices both verbally and electronically to resolve matters with planning and support of water and wastewater infrastructures

-Continuous review of practices and new technology to identify opportunities to increase efficiencies and improve resource management

-Ensure leadership and control in all service areas by reviewing ongoing work performance of staff members and contractors to ensure the quality of work

- Provide motivation, guidance and communication to staff ensuring high performance of staff team work in the service delivery compliant with the City standards and regulations

-Provide on site training and support to staff regarding safe working & operating procedures, equipment and new technology

- Provide information to legal staff to resolve claims and disputes between the corporations, contractors and residents

- Responsible for staff attendance management and the scheduling and approval of vacation and overtime in accordance with the collective agreement and operational requirements

- Input, review and maintain accurate and complete operational records into the works management system

- Complete all log book entries as required in a timely manner to ensure MOE compliance

- Provide reports to the manager as required, identifying infrastructure performance, concerns and possible challenges

- Consistently respond to emergency and/or priority situations to ensure public health and safety including the appropriate use of City resources maintaining financial integrity

- Provide a safe work environment by ensuring staff receive required corporate health and safety legislated training

-Operated and performed maintenance repairs, inspections of water and wastewater systems and appurtenances

-Carry out daily activities from supervisor in a cost effective manner

-Prepare job sites by preparing traffic control plans and erecting barricades and installing shoring in excavation as required

-Provide work direction to work crews in compliance with the Ministry of Labor and the Ontario Health and Safety Act

-Perform tests for water quality assurance as required by legislation and divisional practices

-Complete, maintain and cost daily reports within Toronto Water

-Maintain all equipment and tools and provide feedback to supervisors in order to help run efficient in the day to day activities

-Responding to a wide range of calls related to water services and emergency situations

-Responsibilities include repairs and/or installation of various projects, including broken water mains, frozen pipes, leaks, sewer problems, fire hydrant installation and repairs

-Working closely with police services, fire Department and The Ministry of Environment. Addressing, analyzing, troubleshooting and implementing appropriate solutions

-Taking water samples for proper levels of chlorine, documenting results and working under the direction of the Supervisor

-Providing environmental protection through spills response, potable water quality and storm water quality issues

- Liaising and corresponding with residents, contractors, government agencies and City staff on various water and wastewater issues

-Operated backhoe, front end loader, Gradall in road maintenance and related services

-Operated front snow plow with lift gate for wind rows

-Spread asphalt for various locations and installed concrete slabs for City sidewalks
