Advertisements in High School Yearbook

Burlingame Highschool
10.2021 - 05.2022
  • For my yearbook class in my junior year in High School, I was assigned to take car of the section of the yearbook consisting with business advertisement. One other person and I would go to different businesses and ask them if they were interested in buying an advertisement in our yearbook. We had three different sizing options and flyers to hand out to the small businesses with the information on how to contact us. If they were interested in buying an ad, we would discuss what photo they wanted to advertise or if they wanted to create an ad, we would do it ourselves based on the different preferences they expressed. Within the first couple of months, we had sold enough to cover the entire section we had reserved for this.
  • This taught me how to sell, while many businesses were not into the idea of putting an ad in our yearbook, we would still try to sell to them. As well as the ones that seemed interested but never reached out, we would go again to keep checking in.
