I started off playing drums (self taught) in a band when I was 14 years old. When the band broke up 3 years later I traded my drums in for my first acoustic guitar. I again self taught myself some basic guitar chords and as I improved I purchased my first electric guitar. Since the early 1970's I now have a collection of 38 guitars including a banjo, mandolin and ukulele.
I helped form a band in 1995 called the Reptiles and we started with 5 very talented musicians from Sault College. We played for charity events including raising money for student scholarships, the Cancer Society's Relay for Life events, Kidney Foundation etc... By the time I left Sault Ste Marie there were approximately 15 band members, including a brass section, two keyboard players, guitar players, drummers and 3 talented back up singers.
Currently, I meet every Tuesday at Grace United Church and play guitar and sing with the Autumn Jammers. I'm also in a local garage band where we play rock and roll music.
