I basically finished high school and got into the recycling sector right aaway. Trijan Industries was my first position. i learned alot there being new to the sector. i learned to torch, cut scrap, prepare for shipping, different classes of scrap metal. I learned hands on to operate the equipment and perform maintenance. Became familiar with prechecks of equipment and proper use of the various tools.. I left Trijan Industries after 28 years to further my employment with Delsan Aim. Ive been there since march of 2000. I used my skills here that i aquired over the many years from previous experience. Ive operated various trpes of John Deere excavators and Liebherr excavators here also. BSO Certified
I worked at Delsan Aim for the takedown of the former OPG site in courtright Ontario. During my 2 years there i operated different types of equipment such as shears grapples and material handlers. I used a grapple john deere 450 machine to load garbage trucks as well as non ferrous trucks. also loaded train cars daily with prepared scrap. operated shear to prepare scrap for loading as well. very familiar with a torch and cut steel that was to thick for the shears to prepared.
As an operator at Trijan Industries I operated various types of equipment such as liebherr material handlers and linkbelt shears and grapples. I ran an Aljon car logger as well as a Bonofiglioli upright shear. It was my duty to prepare scrap for shipping as well as make bales for loading into trucks. also used a torch to prepare scrap.. Used material handler to sort various loads of scrap metal from the various plants across lambton county.
