Work History

Dairy Farm Laborer

Robert Gioletti & Son's
08.2017 - 08.2025
  • Equipment operation:
  • While working on Robert Gioletti & Son's I became proficient in various different pieces of heavy machinery and equipment. One of the first pieces of equipment that I learned to operate was an old CASE IH 856 tractor to push feed. After that I became proficient in operating silage trucks for corn and oat silage. I also learned how to operate various larger field tractors, such as a New holland SR220 swather for oats and alfalfa, and a CASE 420 Steiger for ripping and disking. In addition to the larger equipment I learned how to run smaller pieces of equipment for day to day use. On this dairy farm we ran a variety of Caterpillar skid steers and front loaders. Finally I became proficient in hauling cattle with a truck and trailer.
  • Farm maintenance:
  • On the farm I was tasked with various repairs that required me to learn how to use a variety of tools. These ranged from plumbing and woodworking, to welding and using the cutting torches in the freestalls and feed bunk areas.
  • Breeding and treatments:
  • On occasion I was tasked with filling in for the workers that were responsible for the hormone shots involved in the double off sync breeding program of the dairy. I became proficient in administering shots of various hormones, as well as simple shots of medications like Vitamin B and orally administered medication such as aspirin.
  • Calf Care:
  • For one summer I was tasked with helping to take care of the Calf facility on the farm. This involved feeding in the morning and in the evening, cleaning calf hutches, and administering medication.
  • Feed management:
  • For a few years while I was at Robert Gioletti & Son's I helped prepare and mix loads of feed. Using a CAT front loader to load the feed and various silage trucks and mixer wagons to transport the feed.
  • Hospital treatments and records:
  • My last summer on the dairy I spent every morning in the hospital barn on the dairy. Here I analyzed the state of any new cows that arrived and helped to make treatment decisions. In addition to this I was tasked with keeping very detailed records of the treatments that were given, and entering these treatment into the dairy's Dairy Comp program.
  • Orchard and field work/irrigation:
  • On occasion I was tasked with performing tasks in the fields and orchards requiring me to run a variety of equipment previously listed. In addition I would have to take irrigation shifts from time to time. This varied from pre irrigating to prepare for planting, or just regularly scheduled flood irrigating. During this process I would have to manage multiple checks at one time as well as being tasked with passing off the water to the next person.

Agriculture Intern

Modesto Junior College
08.2023 - 05.2025
  • Event planning and execution:
  • Modesto Junior college was the host to various events ranging from barrel races, tractor pulls, and even french bulldog shows. To more simple events such as banquets and trade shows. During these events I would have to perform a variety of tasks. In the days prior I helped plan the layout for the events as well as pick up the supplies or food needed for this event. I would help to set up any necessary equipment, like tables, chairs, projector screens, etc. During the events I would have to help anyone that required it, showing guests where to go, helping to cook and maintain the kitchen, serving individuals food and beverages, and managing ticket stands and things of that nature. Finally we would be tasked with the clean up. This would involve putting everything back where it originally was, using the tractors and equipment to re scrape and re water the pavillion floor, and making sure the kitchen was back and clean and in working order.
  • Various farm tasks:
  • MJC west campus is home to a variety of farm units. During my time at MJC I spent time working at all of them, performing a variety of tasks from repairs to simply moving livestock. Additionally to this I would help in the general up keep of the units. Making sure that the grass was mowed using a bush hog mower attached to a ford 6600 tractor. As well as making sure that all of the pastures were properly irrigated.

Future Farmers of America:

During my four years spent in the Turlock FFA chapter I learned a variety of skills and earned many achievements. I served multiple terms on the officer team with my final term being as president. I acquired every FFA degree possible including the highest degree, which is the American farmer degree. Overall being involved in FFA taught me about the values of hard work and taught me how to be a better speaker, communicator, and well rounded individual.

California 4-H

During my youth from the age 9 to age 15 I was very involved in my local 4-H chapter. During my time in this chapter I also served many terms as officer, as well spent a lot of time in the dairy club. through this club I exhibited dairy cattle and learned the values of taking pride in your work and trying your hardest to do the best that you are capable of.

Our lady of The Assumption Church:

At home in Turlock I am very involved in my local Catholic church. Before high school I frequented the churches youth group and catechism. In addition to this I help by donating time and money to assist the church with putting on traditional portuguese events.
