Summary

I’m from an immigrant family who migrated to Canada in 1974 and have been enrolled in various private and public educational institutions that triggered my curiosity about people’s commonalities and differences. My reflective approach of self, life and people have assisted me to grow, adapt and build community and practice the bayanihan spirit. A Tagalog term which literally means “being in a bayan”, which refers to the spirit of communal unity, work and cooperation to achieve a particular goal.
