• Operated two 30,000 kg/hr Water Tube (Power) Boilers. 470 psi, 3MW Steam Turbine, and all high voltage power equipment from BC Hydro including ancillary equipment within the Power House.

Performed routine operation and basic troubleshooting of a high pressure steam plant providing heating for the extensive UBC Complex. The plant consisted of 3 high pressure water tube boilers and all ancillary equipment.

• Provided a contract shift engineer service to the operating staff ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Recovery Boiler, Power boiler and all ancillary equipment in the delivery of Paper Products.
• Performed duties in accordance with all applicable standards, policies and regulatory guide lines to promote a safe working environment.

• Corresponded with the General Public, Safety Officers, District Examiners, Industry and Members of the examination and curriculum committee nationally.
• Supervised the office staff and organized the power engineering examination program.
• Reviewed and approved Power Engineers receiving certificates under the examination process and reciprocal certificates from other Jurisdictions.
• Established a wording procedures manual, produced all examinations from a computerized program for use in the vancouver office and district offices.
• Coordinated examination schedules with district examiners. authorized applications for examination.
• Identified issues, analyzed information and provided solutions to problems.
• Collected and graded examinations.
