Started as HEO for 7.5 years operating haul trucks, graders, dozers and utility operator (high voltage cable operations to support large electric shovels).
The next 5 years worked in a field supervisor, 1 year team lead, 1 year operations coordinator roles in open pit mine.
Oversaw electric and hydraulic shovels following specific mine plans to unstack ore and resources to facilitate the needs of both the plant and the various dyke and engineered structures we were placing.
Oversaw the transport and placement of dyke structures to support our tailings operations as well as general overburden dump construction and road building.
My experience with being an HEO has provided me with the skills and knowledge base to help my team integrate as we bring in new operators and operators from different backgrounds to the open pit mining environment.
Currently working through the sacred cow coaching to create a better working environment and culture through better communication.
Assigned work to field employees, based on material, work requirements and skill set for specific jobs.
Supervised, coordinated and lead safety toolbox discussions and job specific field level hazard assessments on activities of operations team members.
Completed project milestones on time by keeping team members on task and operating with efficiency.
Developed successful resolutions for challenges that arise during daily field operations.
Conferred with management, technical personnel and contractors to resolve challenges and coordinate operations.
Read specifications on planning maps to determine project requirements and coordinate operations on Dyke and engineered structure placement to ensure standards are met.

Established and enforced procedures and work standards, promoting a safety oriented team environment.
