Duties include scheduling appointments, taking patient histories, preparing patients for examinations, administering medications, drawing blood and performing basic laboratory tests. Played a vital role in providing quality patient care and helping health care facilities run smoothly.
Implemented behavior-analytic services for patients with autism. Worked 1:1 with over 25 children who ranged from high functioning to low functioning on the spectrum. Under supervision, I ran programs where the focus was on modifying behaviors that cause frequent stress and affect daily function. Helped teach important social, play and basic life skills such as personal hygiene management.
Assisted the teacher in implementing a nurturing and age-appropriate learning environment. As a student teacher, I floated around different classrooms encountering over 50 children who have unique needs. The distinct needs of each student required me to have a vast knowledge of different care techniques, for example, CPR, changing diapers, feeding, and milestones for each age group.
This internship was an opportunity to shadow physicians from many departments while also witnessing the healthcare system of a developing nation. I attended seminars on transformative healthcare in Thailand, hosted English classes for hospital staff, and completed administrative tasks.

Studied the cellular and molecular pathways leading to liver carcinogenesis. I was able to assist her in Dr.Han study by exploring novel therapeutic strategies for effective prevention and treatment of human liver cancer.

Duties ranged from interviewing participants to data management and analysis. However, the most rewarding part was assisting the Spanish-speaking research assistant on home visits. I observed as the children recalled their stories switching from their native language to English.
