Jonathan Dixon

Dartmouth

Summary

My name is Jonathan but everyone calls me Jono. I am currently working at Wal-Mart but I'm exploring other work opportunities due to rising costs of living and trying to start a family with my fiance whom I plan to marry sometime in 2026.

I think I would be a good fit because of my years of experience working in a warehouse environment, and the variety of skills I've picked up over the years.

Work History

DSD Receiver

Walmart
04.2011 - Current

During my time working at Wal-Mart I have learned how to operate all of the powered equipment in the store: Power Jacks, Walkie Stackers, Bravi Sprints, and the Forklift. I regularly use all of these machines in my day-to-day duties.

I have been responsible for unloading all trailers that drop the General Merchandise, Grocery, Fresh, Frozen, Meat, and Dairy deliveries.

I have also been responsible for picking, binning, stocking merchandise, claims, donations, and general labor in and around the store.

I am currently responsible for scanning in vendors and deliveries as the DSD associate and helping out in the claims department during slow days. My additional duties also involve assisting other members of the Operations team when they need help with odd tasks here and there.

Some of the assigned duties to help include unloading soil off flatbeds with the forklift and arranging them outside to be sold, loading reefer trailers with the forklift, merchandising on the front end and action alleys, setting up fixtures and shelving, cleaning up mouse damage, shoveling snow and salting, price changing, and stocking freight.

Originally I was hired to stock and pick merchandise overnights and during this time was taught how to receive deliveries from Saputo and Canada Bread. Later I moved to days to join the truck unloaders and carried those skills forward and quickly became the go-to guy to unload the FDD, MP, and Grocery trucks. Eventually I moved to my current role as the DSD associate after a number of years.
