After seven exciting years of expat living in the United Arab Emirates, we are back in Canada and thrilled about our permanent relocation to the stunning Okanagan Valley.

For the past five and a half years, my professional career has transitioned to Seniors Supportive Housing, and my passion for and past experience in hospitality have given me an added edge in becoming confident and effective in my current role. Seniors Housing is a growing industry with an urgent need for ideally suited individuals in every sector. Along with the compassion and empathy essential to the role, I bring effective leadership, outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal and, above all, the ability to connect effortlessly with people from all walks of life.

During my expat life in The United Arab Emirates, I joined a team of individuals trapped in a declining corporate culture and successfully transformed the operation into an inspiring, producing environment. We not only competed fiercely in our market, we achieved the community print platform of choice in the region and expanded into other media management services. A combination of skills including competency in sales, negotiating, proposal writing, creative content writing and editing enabled me to assume multiple roles and thereby function on a budget that demanded reduced labour costs.

For the past 5 years my many transferrable skills have enabled me to seamlessly transition into Community Relations and Sales Management roles in Supportive Seniors Housing. In my current position I have been highly effective in every aspect of my multi facetted role. I have consistently achieved above and beyond sales expectations and set records for monthly sales. I am very active in events planning and execution and have a hands-on approach to any situation that requires attention.

I believe that an organizations success is directly proportional to the unity and strength of its team and that strength is achieved through effective communicating, training and mentoring. As a leader, I possess the ability to unify a team and build strong enduring relationships and I have a track record of doing this wherever my professional life has taken me. Sales is the fuel of any organization and my ability to connect effortlessly with people has been the foundation of my success on both a professional and personal level.

We managed to continue operating effectively without sacrificing quality or productivity. Sales targets were aggressively set and consistently met, both on a personal level and by all members of the team through effective communicating, training and mentoring. My ability to connect with people has not only resulted in strong enduring relationships, it led to referral business so vital to the survival of any service oriented organization. My diverse professional and personal past have allowed me to thrive in a multi-cultural environment teeming with opportunity and challenges. I am proud to have succeeded in transplanting a family of four from a typical Canadian existence to a country whose foreign culture and climate require patience and endurance.
