Accomplished Senior Product Verification Specialist at Ross Video Ltd., adept in feature and system-level testing with Jira proficiency. Successfully reduced testing duplication through effective collaboration, while enhancing product quality and customer satisfaction. Skilled in hardware troubleshooting and issue tracking, I thrive in dynamic environments, driving innovation and excellence in product verification.
I provided verification testing for all softGear, and later openGear, products under development. This involved feature and system-level test, creating and executing testing in Jira, logging and tracking of issues (Bugs) and collaborating with the development team to reduce testing effort duplication. I also created and presented technical updates for both the development team as well as outside partners, provided customer care for escalated issues, worked with partners on technology handovers and provided internal training. I worked independently as well as within a team.
I was responsible for the repair of all product returns in the openGear product line, including OEM/openGear partner products. I would receive, test and troubleshoot returns, initiate repair and reclamation processes, track inventories, manage customer repairs as well as internal requests from corporate customers (R&D, DTS, etc.). I also provided technical training to various internal groups in the form of introductory broadcast industry knowledge. I worked independently as well as within a team.
Much like my current role, I was responsible for the testing and verification of all openGear products. This was both feature and system-level testing, using primarily Testopia and Bugzilla test recording platforms. I was also involved in assisting other product lines with their testing, including the Ultrix/NK router line, the Carbonite switcher line and the Xpression line. I worked independently as well as within a team.
I provided HW QA testing at the system, feature and device level for multiple product lines (openGear, Carbonite switchers, NK routers, Blackstorm media servers). Testing could involve anything from complex multi-device systems to individual PCBs within a device. Multiple pieces of testing equipment were employed (environmental chamber, oscilloscopes, genalyzers, signal generators, etc.). Reporting and issue tracking was done using Testopia and Bugzilla test recording platforms as well as written technical updates. I worked indepently as well as within a larger QA team.
My role was split between being the resident development support technologist and the manager of the R&D Lab for the Ross Gear/openGear development team. I worked on new and existing products providing developer assistance in testing and verification at the component and product level. I oversaw the R&D Lab, maintaining equipment, ensuring systems were functioning nominally and creating repair and calibration schedules for all equipment. I maintained a Lab budget for existing and new equipment, submitted annually. All testing was recorded and maintained in a corporate network structure, and made available for team members and management in update presentations weekly.
My role was split between being the resident development support technologist and the corporate component engineer. I worked on new and existing products providing developer assistance in testing and verification at the component and product level. I also over component management for the company, supporting both R&D and production in the maintaining and updating of components used in the development and production of all Ross products at that time. This involved maintaining a database of components used in Ross products that required additional sources, replacement due to obsolescence, replacements due to cost, and other factors. I was the primary for test verification of any new or potential replacement components that Ross was to use or source. I also created the ACER (Alternate Component Evaluation Request) process, which is still used today.
I worked as a test technician initially on Ross Gear products, later moving onto Synergy switcher products. I oversaw production testing of customer orders, preparing the items and testing for verification and configuration purposes. I also tested production issues, debugged and repaired defective items that were a result of issues within the production process. The Production Test team also provided customer and technical support for in-field issue, took technical support calls, and even went on-site to customer locations to provide technical and sales support.
