Involves suicide risk assessments, determining if emergency services will be needed, and providing emotional support to those in need. Responsible for creating safety plans, reporting abuse if necessary, and reducing callers' emotional intensity. Creating call reports and getting as much information from the caller as possible to determine the best possible safety plan or providing third-party information. This includes the determination of mental health status, financial status, substance abuse, trauma, buffers to prevent self-harm, or providing information of services needed in the area.
